OK, Now they've gone and done it: they're going to inject 18.5 billion of our Tax money into America's nuclear power industry.

Jeeze, we can't find a way to dispose of the tons of nuclear waste that we have now, what're we going to do with all the new waste we'll be generating?

Think what an American Solar Industry would do for the US, with an 18.5 billion investment.

It boggles the mind how shortsighted and corrupt our government is.

Open Letter to Dem Leaders in DC

Dear Speaker Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Reid, and President Obama,

Passing just anything to get a "Health Care Bill" passed will not work. If the bill that's in the senate right now is the final bill, I won't be going to the polls this November to vote. I'll have absolutely ZERO reason to get out of my car and go in and vote for incompetents just because they have a "D" after their name.

Please let Rep Courtney and Senator Dodd know why they will be out of a job come January. I hope you will enjoy working with Speaker of the House Bohner and Senate Majority Leader McConnell.

Snow in CT

Yowser in the house today. I spent all day yesterday (well, all the time I wasn't getting my beauty sleep that is) watching big gobs of snow fall outta the sky, only to melt as soon as they hit ground. By the time it finally stuck, there just wasn't much left to fall. This morning, while I was getting the all important after-brunch nap in, my roomie went around and shot pics. She even let me out on the deck to watch the little birds flitter and chase around. That sure gets old fast - it's COLD on the tootsies out there! The coming Afghan Escalation

So, we're there until we can "train" an Afghan army. I thought we just spent eight years "training" the Afghan army.

The whole "training" thing is complete BS. Even if we were to train all the Afghans that we want, and every one was a loyal afghan and loyal to "Afghanistan" (as if that coherent country existed), the government of Afghanistan cannot afford to pay them.

What?

Are we going to pay for a national army for Afghanistan from now until... When? And how are these soldiers who are being paid by the great western satan going to maintain their credibility?

It's untenable, unworkable, unsustainable.
