Time To Go...

Where might we be right now if only Bush was not a Moron?

Quote of the Day

You want me to answer the question? Yes. As you stand there with a picture of the President defaced to look like Hitler and compare the effort to increase health care to the Nazis, my answer to you is as I said before, it is a tribute to the First Amendment that this kind of vile, contemptible nonsense is so freely propagated.

Ma'am, trying to have a conversation with you would be like trying to argue with a dining room table. I have no interest in doing it.

Just One Question

Is the Secret Service TRYING to get President Obama assassinated?

I mean after all, they can place their outside perimeter up to a mile away from the venue the president is in. So, why are armed protestors just outside the building with loaded guns?

I have seen 10 presidents on TV. Never have I seen anyone allowed to bring a loaded gun anywhere near the POTUS venues.

The Land of the Fee, The Home of the Grave

Dear President Obama,

I watched Michael Moore's "Sicko" last night, then woke up to hear your voice saying it was OK to "Compromise on the Public Option".

For the first time, I actually felt ashamed of my country, and the people who would throw the poor and the sick into the street rather than give them the care that any person (hell, any DOG or CAT) deserves. What happened to pulling together, caring for the unfortunate, we're-all-in-this-together?

I voted for you, not to compromise all of our principles in order to win over a few Republicans, but to get Universal Healthcare done, to get Wall Street re-regulated, and to get a fair shake for the vast majority of the United States citizens that have watched our jobs be offshored and our pay reduced and our benefits cancelled.

All you do is compromise, water down, and beg the Republicans to join you. All they do is laugh and take the compromise, and then vote against everything you worked for.

If I wanted Republicans calling the shots, I'd have voted for them.

My question is: When the Medicare Pharmacy bill was pushed through, the Big Medical Industrial complex bought off all the politicians that were involved in it. It wasn't much for them... a couple hundred thou each, and the president got almost a Million.

So - How much did you get to throw away all the Reform in the Health Care "Reform" bill? Did you at least get a couple Mill for selling us all down the river? Or, did you do as all the dems do, and sell out cheap? I really want to know how much it takes to strip someone of their humanity...

Really - HOW MUCH?

Why I Stopped

Town Halls

This interview was revealing, showing the depth of her ignorance about how her own country works - the country that she was born and lived her whole 35 years in.

She says she wants the country restored to what was in the Constitution at the time of the founders. When confronted (very gently) with what that would actually mean, she is at a loss....

Well, maybe not ignorant - here's her RIGHTWING BLOGGING PAGE
So, if she's a Constitution Project voter, then she's doubly an ignoramus for not even thinking about her position enough to know what it would entail.

Incredible Garden

This year we've had torrential rains...

In the month of July, we broke the all time record for rainfall, clocking in over 14".

This sunny garden is usually a challenge, built on sand, with no ability to water, I'm usually saving every drop that drains from the roof.

But THIS year....

Everything is exploding into bloom!

Today's Pic

I have my desktop set to choose a random picture from my photo file each day. This is today's. It's kinda like asking 'what's on your IPOD?'

Today's Pics

I go from the shade garden to the sunny garden for these three:

Solar Balloons!

Now this has got to be the best idea in the last few years....

A mylar balloon that concentrates the sun's rays on the small collector attached to the middle of the transparent side. The shape of the balloon directs the light onto the collector to get 350 times the power than if the collector was naked and pointed at the sun.

So - cheap mylar, tiny collector, and no expensive mechanism to move the collector:
win win win.

The company that produces these collectors, Cool Earth, has just rounded up 21 million in funding.

I write letters

Dear Scty State Hillary Clinton,

Re: Accountability for the War Crimes of the Bush Administration.

We are waiting, we are disappointed.
