Critters In The Yard

Fishes, silvery shining fishes! (well, actually orange)

I have no idea what kind of bird this is, but we have a few around our yard, and they love to bathe in the stream.

This chipmunk has taken up residence in our yard, and has holes all over the place.

I have a pond full of fancy goldfish but I don't have a chipmunk...wish I did.

Your yard is wonderful. I, like Sumo, would enjoy having some chipmunks, too. It's funny, they inhabit Mo, but not where I am. 30 miles away, and there they are! Maybe I should trap some and bring them back. Ha!

That's a catbird: All grey with a little black cap. Beneath their tails there's a rust-colored patch.

They visit my backyard here in Brooklyn. One of my favorites. They're elegant little birds, robin-sized, but more slender. They have the most incredible songs. They're in the Mockingbird family, and their variety of sounds shows it.

Hey Sumo,

We live in fear of that little rodent chewing through either the electric wires that power the pump, or thru the pond lining itself. The lil' bugger!

Hey OWL,

I told hubby we could set out a hava heart trap, and ship 'em to you...

Hey Xris,

Welcome to my caravan! Thanks, I have always heard of catbirds - catbird seat... but never knew what they looked like. I wonder if they're the ones making the sound like a teeter totter.
