Spring has sprung!
Our only pets, these goldfish were 10
cent feeders three years ago. The big one in the middle is called stealth. He was black when he was little, and he was the only survivor of the blue heron and white egret depradations. Now we have a fine black net over the pond, so the fish can relax.
Finally Forsythia! It seems like there's one in every yard, around here. Along with Daffodils, forsythia is the first flower to bloom in the spring. We get a few pink trees, and the hardy tulip magnolia is starting to bloom, but the fruit trees will be a couple weeks yet.
The crocus are my favorites!

Gorgeous pictures, Gypsy! And I love this: "...the sky was full of these soft bellied clouds, roiling in the wind." So lyrical...
Oh, thank you, Crabbi!
Yes, those beautiful purple crocci. I love them. I once had some. I think the grubs and rolly polies ate them.
Hey OWL, I've been trying to create a "stream" of crocus in Hubby's lawn, but they seem to disappear faster than I can plant them. I think the chipmunks and squirrels eat them.
That black netting over the pond is such a good idea. I think we may have to try that. Then we can pick up a few more 10 cent feeder fish, now that our pond has maybe one fish out of a dozen left.
Beautiful photos of spring in the northeast. Lovely.
Hey RD,
We obtained the fiberglass poles for a small dome tent, and put black electrical tape over the silvery joints. Then throw the net over, and weigh the edges down with fist sized rocks. Haven't lost any fish since.
You take marvelous photographs, my dear. Spring seems to finally have arrived at your house as well. Here the forsythia has just passed it's bloom.
Hey, FLS,
Once we get going, it comes on fast. The trees are leafing out this week, by next week it will pretty much look like *whew* summer. (thank goddess!)
