Calderon is named victor by Supremes

In a virtual Re-do of our 2000 election, the Mexican Supremes threw out Oberador's suit.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) - Mexico's top electoral court threw out allegations of massive fraud in last month's presidential election on Monday, handing almost certain victory to conservative candidate Felipe Calderon.

The seven judges voted unanimously to reject almost all the legal complaints by left-wing candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, who said he was robbed of victory in the July 2 vote.

The leftist, who has vowed to make Mexico ungovernable if Calderon becomes president, refused to accept the ruling.

The court stopped short of formally naming Calderon the winner, but reported only marginal changes after examining the results of a partial recount and throwing out more than 230,000 ballots because of voting irregularities.

Calderon vowed not to let protests rattle his victory.

So, and stop me if I'm wrong, but Obrador's plan to make Mexico ungovernable helps whom? At some point, he needs to step up and accept circumstances and find a way to effect change. I'm not saying that he should give up with a whimper, but rather that he needs to find a way to fight this and not harm the people.

Well, I kinda like his spirit. Walking away without a fight, and accepting this outright fraud will only disillusion his supporters, who have just stood up for themselves and voted for the first time ever.

Gore faced the same kind of election fraud, and gave in. They let the Black Caucus' plea for election rights go unanswered. Look what we have gone thru because the Dems could not find their spine. Kerry had the choice: fight or let the fraudsters stay in power. He chose to tuck his tail between his legs and go on back to Mass. It's been a disaster.

Christine Gregoire, Governor of WA, on the other hand, fought her republican opponent until the last vote was recounted twice, and won the governor's mansion. Too bad she wasn't the one running for prez.

The people have only one chance: their vote for the candidate of their choice. If that candidate won't fight for us, why should we bother?
