If they had actually read it , they probably would not be thanking me so politely.

Oh my dear - that is almost word for word the replies I get every time I send an email to my representatives! They usually get it to me sooner than you, however; but it remains obvious that it is an automatic reply. Like you, had they actually read what I wrote, they might not have been so ‘vanilla’ in their response!
Same here, word for word! Do they even bother to read the mail they get, or only the mail that agrees with them?
I suspect they have a trash can with my name on it in Terry Everrets office. I write that jerk at least once a month.
Since my state only has republican Senators and Congressmen, I have no choice but to write them to bitch about their lack of ethics and lack of true representation. I know they must all hate me. At least I hope they do.
I think they read the mail they get, catagorize it, and then dump it. I doubt very much that the prez ever saw one letter, unless it's from someone fawning over him.
Sen Chris Dodd, and even our moderate Rep Rob Simmons write good replys, on topic and to the point of my letter.

Same here. I always invision some poor intern sitting there checking their list before they delete it. Going, "Yep,we've already got her on "the list."
