Open letter to the President of the United States

Mr Bush,

It would really benefit the country, in my opinion, if you would start to pay attention to the real world results of your policies.

You pledged that if anyone in your administration was found to have a part in the Plame debacle, that you would fire them. You reneged on that pledge. You parsed words and put a fine point on your re-write pencil.

I would like to hear from you that you value justice enough that you would never pardon a felon. You refused to pardon so many people in Texas when you sat in the governor's seat. Some had evidence that may have cleared their name. To pardon a political crony at this time would send the signal that you value strong arm tactics, rule by thuggery, and may the slimiest, most corrupt soul win.

That is not the American way. That is not a moral, honorable action. That is not what I expect from the office of the President of the United States. Are you just warming the seat, or are you bringing your Christian values to grace the White House?

We will know by your actions what your values are. The world is watching, what's your next move?

Sincerely
SB Gypsy

Harry Reid is floating a petition to ask the president to rule out a pardon of "Scooter" Libbey. You can sign on (if you are so moved), at this webpage. I say, Give 'em Hell, Harry!

Well put SB_G. We all sit and watch in horror as our world image is shattered, our economy corrupted, our social programs raped while the tax givebacks to the wealthy are increased. All this while our government kills off many young American brothers and sisters in a war based on lies. I dare say things have never gone to this extreme.

What would happen if you sent it to The White House? I have been thinking lately about all the bloggers straining at the bit to get on O'Reilly's hate list - not to mention those of us contacting our congressional representatives. The one person no one seems to contact is Bush himself. Is it that we all instinctively know he would disregard anything sent him? Do we just assume his belief that he has been chosen by God renders him deaf to any pleas for reason? What you are saying makes sense, and it is something Bush needs to hear – but would it be a waste of postage to send it? I’m afraid the answer to all these questions is yes.

By the way - did you read Dharma Bums latest post? It touches on the truth about Bush in a very telling way.

Hey Charlie, I totally agree, I'm so tired of watching as he drags our great country down into third world corruption and a third world economy.

Hey, FLS, I did send it via email, to the White House. I don't think it will make any difference to him, he'll never see it. Some third or fourth tier flunky (or even one of those religious fanatic, home schooled, racist colleged, republican interns) will read it and sigh about my crooked thinking, and hit the delete button without even marking a check in the appropriate column on the report that no one looks at anyway. *sigh* Oh Well

A very good letter. I agree that flunkies will read, then toss, the E-mail. Unless they, first, place your name in the Traitor book they're keeping. Thanks for posting it.

Very good letter. I've heard that if you send snail-mail, it is more likely to get the attention it deserves.
I think about writing letters all the time, but I'm too lazy, so I appreciate all the writing that you do.

Hey OWL, Unfortunately we have a prez who's so paranoid and insecure that he cannot bring himself to face criticism, never mind find out what's happening in the real world.

Hey RD, I guess I'm just a blabbermouth, but I cannot just sit by & witness this train wreak, tho I've been consumed with witnessing it since "Shock & Awe" week.

We've worked way too hard to let the govt tax and spend us (and our children) out of our retirement, which they will do if they get the chance.
