Pics from before the Snow

Our woodpecker trunk. They say you should leave these out on your property for the woodpeckers, but I wonder if it doesn't attract them, so they can hammer on our house.

I took these all around the house, just the day before the snow.

My sweetie loves to sit on the deck and listen to the tree frogs singing in the spring.

Even as the forest buttons up before the cold arrives, the hardy mosses and tiny tender plants keep on chugging along.

Beautiful series of photos. I love the forest in your neck of the woods. I can't wait to see your snow photos.

We have several inches on the groung now and already thats enough snow for me. The decayed black birch tree my favorite pic, but all are nice and fall like. Hope to be in Fla by Friday to visit a friend and enjoy the nice weather they still have. About 75 daytime. Thats my kind of winter.

I just love the colors in the last photo. There just beautiful.
We have a a lake on our property and it is right out our back door. I too love the sounds of the frogs singing. It never fails to make me slow down and listen.

Hey CharlieP, I have relations in FLA, It depends on where in FLA you're talking about. Large swathes of it are about freezing at night now. 70 degree days would feel good, tho. The older I get, the less I want to spend half my time in the cold!

Welcome, Missouri Mule! I love the moss, and usually spend some time in the summer watering, transplanting and pulling grass out of it.(tho,it probably doesn't need that much help from me!) It's the first green thing in the spring, and the last green in the fall. I love it.
