The Frogs of Thread City

These Froggies are not just whimsy, they illustrate the tale of our colonial ancestors. It seems that, on one early spring pre-dawn, the settlers awakend to a terrific noise, and fearing that it was an Indian attack, they rushed out in the pitch darkness, and started shooting in the general direction of the noise. When the sun rose, they found themselves in the swamp, and the noise was hundreds of frogs, which had thawed out and were very frisky....and outspoken about it!

What a great story. I have a liking for frogs and turtles. They were always fun to play with when I was a kid.

Which reminds me of the time my sister stuck her tongue out at a turtle, she was holding in her hands close to her face, and the turtle bit it. It was funny at the time, and has nothing to do with frogs, I realize that. Sorry.

Hi OWL,
Great story, lol. I know about turtles from growing up next to a lake in CT. We had our own little beach next to the dock, and one spring there was the most terrifically nasty smell....rotten turtle eggs! We had to dig them up & dispose of them. From then on, the other word for nasty was "rotten turtle eggs"!!!
