I looked at those calla lillies and thought "how could she have calla lillies this time of the year?" Whew. They are beautiful, aren't they? I miss them already, and we haven't even gotten to fall.
Yes, I was pining for spring, especially because my garden is drying up and about to blow away on the wind. We have a shallow well at work, and right now we are in a very conservative mode, with the water anyway. No watering flowers!
Calla Lillies are supposed to be perrenials, but I've found that they have to come inside in the winter. Since I don't have a chilly place in the house because the oil burner is in the basement, and the garage freezes.
When I want calla lillies, I just buy them in the spring, and pop them in a pot. I do love them, tho.

Hi Rexroth's Daughter,
Yes, I was pining for spring, especially because my garden is drying up and about to blow away on the wind. We have a shallow well at work, and right now we are in a very conservative mode, with the water anyway. No watering flowers!
Those are beauties. I tried to grow some, but they only came up one year.
Thanks for posting that pic. I like it... a lot:)
Hi OWL,
Calla Lillies are supposed to be perrenials, but I've found that they have to come inside in the winter. Since I don't have a chilly place in the house because the oil burner is in the basement, and the garage freezes.

Well, that explains why they didn't come up, again. Next time, I'll try that. Thanks!
