the true irony here is that it is primarily republicans and conservatives who serve in the military anyway so nothing will change - but I think it would be great to draft libs so they could see what life is like outside the sandbox of saftey created by those republicans they hate so much.

Actually, there is not one conservative that I know that is not a chickenhawk, and the Katrina debacle just goes to show that the "sandbox of safety created by those republicans" is not only nonexistant, it is a sandbox of destruction, have you noticed??
In my lifetime, they were drafting people, and I and everyone I knew noticed that "libs" ended up in 'NAM and "fortunate sons" ended up in some cushy office.
Strange how those who most want the war are those who think themselves above fighting in it...
